Can a Companion 5TH Wheel Hitch For Turnoverball On 2022 Sierra 2500 be Converted to OE Prep Package

Question:

I have a 2022 2500HD std bed w/o the oem prep system and am looking at buying a 5th wheel RV. Im looking at the BandW 20K Companion with the mounting kit for it. What Im curious about is will the Companion hitch work with the goose neck ball opening on the GM OEM prep system. Im asking in case I buy a new truck with the OEM prep after buying and installing the Companion for my current truck. Thanks

There is no way for the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3400-5W to fit into an OEM prep package. It will only fit into the square shank of the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1020 which fits your 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 6-3/4' bed. You would need to get a different base or a whole new hitch should you decide to switch to a truck with the factory prep package. For instance if you stuck with GMC you would need the Hitch # BWRVK3775 or you could reuse your hitch head with the Base # BWRVB3775.

Be sure to remember the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # HM54FR which will fit into the factory cutout location on the rear bed post of your Sierra.
