Buying A Used Edge CTS2 Tuner - Can It Simply Be Unplugged And Used On A New Vehicle?

I could really use your help. I have the option to buy a cts2 touchscreen tuner that was previously only on a duramax. My question is this. Can he simply unplug. And plug this new to me tuner in my 2006 Dodge 2500 4x4 5.9L cummins? Thank u for your time

We can definitely help. To answer your question, no, he cannot simply unplug and sell you the tuner. The Edge CTS2 Tuner will have to be disconnected or unpaired from the original owners vehicle. To do this the original vehicle will need to be set to the factory tune. Changing to the factory settings will unpair the device and allow it to be used in another vehicle. This will have to be done prior to you purchasing the unit or you will not be able to use it on your truck.

This process is all by design. Mainly to stop people from stealing them and/or using one tuner for multiple trucks. So it is definitely a good thing you are looking into this now, as opposed to after you purchase the tuner. We actually get this question a lot from people who have already bought a used tuner and are now out of luck because it was not properly unpaired.
