Is There a Trick to Releasing Buttons of Konig Easy Fit Chains to Remove Them
Updated 01/02/2024 | Published 01/01/2024 >
Question:
The installation of these are very straightforward, and I was able to do that. But the removal is near impossible. I cannot get the release buttons to press down no matter how much force I use, and I made sure the safety was released before doing it. Now the part you step down on to tighten the chain is stuck in the bottom position and cannot go back up. Any help to fix this would be SOOO appreciated! I really want these chains to work — it seems very simple, but I must be doing something wrong because I cannot get the release buttons to work as easily as the videos show.

Something's definitely off with your Konig Easy Fit chains part # TH04115250 if the release tabs won't allow the chains to release. I've installed these and removed them several times over the years and there isn't any secret or trick that you have to do to get the buttons to release/press. It sounds like something is binding up in your case though so I don't know if you can try pulling on various parts of the chain setup to release whatever tension is built up that would allow the buttons to function properly. Have you tried both chains or is it just one that won't release.
