Question:

My 2004 Honda CRV has a Curt Towed Vehicle wiring harness #58949 already installed because the Honda was towed on a car trailer and the former owner wanted to have the Honda brake light system working while on the trailer. This Curt system seems to take a separate brake/turn light system and converts it to a combined system. My question is how to wire the ICX for a Even Brake system to this car? Does the Even Brake just consider this an already combined stop/turn system, or separate? I have the 2nd vehicle kit and have the option of the brake light relay that came with the kit, or do I just run the cold brake switch wire to the ICX? Thanks again

The ICX Braking Monitor # RM-9430 will tie into the brake pedal switch if your brake lights come on your 2004 Honda CR-V when it is in tow mode and the brake pedal is pressed. If your brake lights do not come on when the brake pedal is pressed you will need a Stop Light Switch # RM-751000 to install the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400.

You will not tie into the existing Curt 58949 harness as that would confuse the monitor as anytime your brake lights activate on your motorhome and power the Curt harness it would show the braking system as active even when the brake pedal may not be pressed at the same time.
