Question:
My new golf cart tire 18 x 8.5 - 8 says 36 max air pressure on the tire. Isnt that a bit high for a golf cart? thanks.

That does sound a bit high but this may be due to the maximum load capacity on your specific tire. As an example our 18x8.50-8 # AM40537 is a load range B tire with the maximum tire pressure at 22psi. If your tires have a higher load range or capacity over 815lbs this would explain the higher maximum tire pressure rating you have of 36 psi. Typically tires with a higher capacity will have more plys making them require a higher tire pressure.
