Question:
I was told the wind while driving can open and damage and electric awning. He said there is a device available to prevent this but did not tell me what the device is. What device do you recommend.

It sounds like you're talking about the Solera Awning Cradle Support - black # LC289374 (white # LC289373). This cradle helps hold the roller tube to the wall of the trailer when fully retracted and can prevent it from swaying in the wind. You'll also want to make sure that the awning arms fully retract and keep an eye on the fabric end that's attached to the c-channel on the wall of the trailer. If it starts to shift it can place more tension to one side allow the arms to start to bend to that side and they won't want to fully close. My dad's awning did this because the manufacturer of the trailer did a shoddy job securing the channel to the wall and it started to pull away.
