Question:

I have blue ox bx7420. can I tow more then 5000 lbs with this base plate and tabs

Considering that the Avail tow bar, # BX7420, is rated for 10,000 pounds, you can certainly tow the 2012 Nissan Pathfinder using base plates # BX1843. The warning regarding 5,000 pounds is in reference to lower capacity tow bars, not the base plates. So you will be fine with the Aventa and these base plates.

The Avail tow bar comes with safety cables so you will just need to add lighting and supplemental braking. For lighting you can use the Blue Ox bulb and socket kit # BX8869. This kit bypasses the vehicle wiring so you will not have to cut and splice into the vehicle tail light wiring for installation.

And for supplemental braking one of the easiest systems to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot
proportional system, # BLU37TR. This system will apply the Nissan brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
