Question:
I would like to install a trailer hitch on my Volvo with a 2inch X 2inch receiver. I have a 4 bike carrier that requires this size hitch. In the description it talks about straps for bike carriers not sure what that means and cant find them on the site? Can you explain what these straps are and can I purchase them along with the trailer hitch?

Expert Reply:
Some Curt brand trailer hitches will state that a stabilization strap needs to be used on non-trailer loads, such as a bike rack. The strap reduces the stress on the hitch. Curt trailer hitch # 13266 is one of these hitches. The strap in question is listed under related products on the hitch page, right hand side. It is # 18050. I have linked a video that shows how it works.
