Question:
Good morning, Looking to purchase item #341030 for my 2018 Ford Escape. The specs say it’s 43” wide at the tailgate. My vehicle is only 40” wide at the wheel wells, how can this possibly work? Sincerely, Ron Ditchen

While the AirBedz XUV Air Mattress # 341031 is designed to be universal we have found that there are a handful of vehicles in which it will not fit correctly. If your tailgate is only 40 wide, I really do not see it fitting properly in the back of your 2018 Ford Escape. You may be able to sleep one, but it would sit at a weird angle most likely. Perhaps saying "one size fits most" is more accurate. Unfortunately, AirBedz does not offer this mattress in a smaller size.
We do offer RV bunk mattresses that some folks will use in this situation. For example the Teddy Bear bunk mattress # LC380766 is 74" long, 32" wide and only 4" tall. They are quite comfortable and do not take up a while ton of space. They are also available in a 28" wide # LC380765 and a 26" wide # LC73FR. I know this may not be exactly what you are looking for, but it is the only other mattress we can offer.
