Will The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DR64FR Increase Towing Capability Of 2021 Jeep Gladiator
Published 08/02/2023 >
Question:
I have a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon which has a factory Class IV hitch which has towing capacity of 7000 and a TW of 700. If I remove the factory hitch which bolts on and replace it with the Draw-Tite class IV hitch will I still have the same rating or the ratings of the Draw-Tite hitch of 7500 towing and 1125 TW. Looking at getting a trailer that weighs 5600 with 7300 GVWR and 835 TW. Or should I get new truck?

Expert Reply:
You are going to want to find a new truck or trailer to tow. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DR64FR while having a higher weight rating it will not increase your factory towing capabilities. Since the highest rated 2021 Jeep Gladiator is only allowed to carry up to 765lbs the trailer you are looking at exceeds the capabilities of the Gladiator.
