Can 60" Thule Crossbars Be Mounted To A 2021 Subaru Crosstrek

Question:

Hi, I have a 21 subaru crosstrek. I have rapid crossroads feet. Can I install 60inch wingbar evo load bars? Will the smartslides be too short for the bars to work with the raised roof rails on my car? I want to add a bike rack to the kayak and cargo box I have on my cars roof.

Unfortunately the spacing for your vehicle wouldn't allow for you to connect 60" Thule crossbars, but I do have two options for you. The first being that you still use your Thule feet and instead of using crossbars you use the Thule Caprock Platform Roof Tray # TH58YE. This would give you more mounting locations to accommodate all of your cargo needs.

The other option would be to switch to a Yakima roof rack, with the Yakima JetStream Crossbars # Y00426 and TimberLine Towers # Y33TR. Yakima crossbars have an attachment slot on the bottom that runs the length of the crossbar, allowing you to use crossbars far wider than the typical fit for your vehicle. The crossbars can not extend past the sideview mirrors of your vehicle so you'll want to measure the distance to ensure a 60" crossbar wouldn't be too big. If it is then let me know your spacing and we can look at smaller options.
