Potential Interference w/Toad and Cargo Carrier when Turning Using Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver

Question:
I read your answer on towing 4 wheels down with a dual receiver. You said you could attach a cargo carrier on the upper part. Will there be a problem when turning while towing. We are worried the cargo carrier will hit the car. Our cargo carrier is 2ft wide by 4 6 long. We would like to purchase the dual receiver but would like to know it will not interfere while driving. We are towing 2014 honda crv using a road master all terrain tow bar and would like to buy the road master rm-077-4 dual receiver. Thank you for any help you can give us.

Whether or not there will be interference when using a cargo carrier in the Roadmaster dual receiver # RM-077-4 depends on several factors. The size of the carrier, the length of the tow bar, the height and width of the vehicle all play a role in determining interference.
If the cargo carrier has a rise in the shank that could raise it higher than the front end of the vehicle and there would be no interference. The only way to know for sure is to test it.
The adapter is going to move move the carrier and tow bar 10-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole on the RV. And it will raise the carrier wither 2 or 4 inches up depending on how the receiver is oriented. If you measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back by 2 feet, 10-1/4 inches that should be where the back of the carrier would be.
