How Can A Roadmaster Baseplate Fit A Chevy Equinox With Active Air Shutters

Question:

Someone asked the question if the roadmaster will fit a 2022 Chevy equinox with active radiator shutters and one of your people, a Jamison C, responded to the question that it would and that the part number is 523193-5 but on Roadmasters webpage it says the following for that part number: for 2020-2023 it: “Fits all. No lower active grill shutters.” Meaning it fits all 2020-2023 cars not having active grill shutters. Why are you saying it fits these cars that have active shutters when Roadmaster says it won’t? Am I missing something? Also I went to an installer and he called Roadmaster and they confirmed that their baseplates are a no-go on a 2022 Equinox with active shutters….

Jameson stated that the air shutters would have to be trimmed for the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523193-5 to fit. the air shutters are made of plastic and can be easily trimmed or cut off completely to allow for the baseplate to fit. Because you're modifying the vehicle Roadmaster just lists it as not a fit, but it can still be done.
