Question:

So I read here that the m30 mopar is the same as a curt a30. It audio said that the a30 is not compatible with a reese sidewinder. But, then I see that there is a wedge available for curt a series hitches. So, I am a little confused. Can a sidewinder be used with a mopar m30 hitch or not? Thanks

The Mopar M-Series hitch is just a rebranded Curt A-Series hitch, which is compatible with rotating pin boxes like the Reese Sidewinder. There has been a bit of a dispute within the last year and a half over which Curt hitches are compatible with rotating pin boxes so you may see conflicting information because of the miscommunication from the manufacturer. As of right now the A-Series (and M-Series) are compatible with rotating pin boxes as well as the E-Series. The Q-Series line has a slightly different design for the hitch head and is no longer compatible with rotating pin boxes.

For your M-30 you'll want to use the Sidewinder Wedge for Curt A Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # C16992 to lock the king pin of your Sidewinder into the jaws of the hitch. I've attached a short video below where Aiden will go over how the wedge fits with the hitch and works and will transition to me showing you how to install a wedge onto a Sidewinder.
