My brake controller numbers are jumping when braking. They will even go up and down while sitting still when my foot is on the brake.

It sounds like your trailer brake controller is faulty. The numbers should not change unless you physically adjust the controller. I recommend replacing your controller with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. The P3 has a clear and easy to read LCD screen. Best of all if you do have issues the controller has built in diagnostics to help troubleshoot any issues you have down the road. If you have a Tekonhsa, Draw-Tite, or Reese brake controller currently you should be able to connect directly to the new controller.
