Recommened 4-Way Wiring Harness for a 2018 Ford Taurus
Updated 06/08/2023 | Published 06/07/2023 >
Question:
How can I power the kit without running a wire to the battery? Can I use some other external power source like a battery bank or something? If so please tell me what to buy.

It's a pain and we get this question daily but the only way to power the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56093, and not damage your Taurus or void the harnesses warranty, is to run a direct line to the battery. The tail light converter needs to be powered by a direct 12v line to your battery to function correctly.
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56093 is custom fit for your 2018 Ford Taurus. It plugs into your Taurus's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area. This will provide you with a 4-way connector to control your trailer or accessories lighting functions.
I have linked an installation video below.
If you need a hitch, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch item # e85KR.
