The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75099 will fit your 1997 Chevrolet C/K pickup with a step side or fleet side bed. It does require you to have either the standard or step bumper.
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118315 will give you a 4-way flat connector for towing small trailers. If you will be pulling larger trailers, you will also need a 7-Way Upgrade # ETBC7 and a Trailer Brake Controller # 90195.
