The HitchMate TruckStep, # HE4045, has a weight capacity of 500 lbs. That weight capacity could be limited if the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch is lower than 500 lbs. There are not many trailer hitches for pickup trucks with a tongue weight capacity lower than 500 lbs, but there are some out there on small and midsize trucks. I recommend verifying the tongue weight capacity of your truck and trailer hitch before using a hitch step.
