The particular Timbren Suspension kit you referenced, part # TGMFC1588H, is intended for a front axle application in the 2-wheel drive version of the 2000 Cadillac Escalade. If your Escalade is a 4 wheel drive model this kit will not fit. We do offer a similar front axle jounce spring kit that will fit your 4 wheel drive Escalade, part # TGMFK35C, but this would really only be necessary if you will be using a snow plow or other heavy front-mounted accessory.

Please note that suspension enhancement kits such as the Timbrens are intended for use on vehicles with stock suspensions that are in good working order. Their intended use is to help support a suspension that is under load, such as in the case of a front-mounted snow plow, or if used on the rear axle for instances when you are towing a trailer or carrying a heavy cargo load. They are not lift kits.

Rubber jounce springs are not adjustable and they have no effect on ride height unless the vehicle is sagging under load and they do not affect ride quality unless the suspension is under load and needs the extra support.

There are several rear axle options for your Escalade; these can be seen on the link provided. The options include Timbren rubber jounce springs and air springs from both Firestone and Air Lift. While air spring kits do allow some adjustment of the amount of support they provide, they also do not affect ride height. An adjustable air spring kit is best for cases where you are carrying heavy cargo loads that have uneven weight distribution between the two sides of the vehicle.

Since the stock Escalade offers good clearance in the wheel wells adding larger 24-inch rims may not require any modifications. This will depend on what the current rim size is and what the profile of your new tires will be. Larger rims with lower-profile tires may end up having the same overall diameter and not require suspension modification.

As long as your stock suspension is in good working order you do not need to worry about damaging it by proper use of either type of suspension enhancement kit.
