Parts Needed To Add 2nd Magnetic Connector To 5TH Wheel Trailer To Work With EZ Connector Wiring
Question:
I purchased EZ Connector for my truck and fifth wheel. Order #xxxxxxx Im considering purchasing Item # 319-R7-01 to have a female mounted to the trailer and use the male to make a double end male cord. I feel this would be easier then stuffing the trailer wires behind the pin box. I realize the wiring would be different and not match colors when connecting the 2 males together. You thoughts please. Thank you.

You can use the EZ Connector Magnetic 7-Way Trailer Connectors # 319-R7-01 with the EZ Connector Magnetic 7-Way Trailer Connector # 319-S7-10 you already ordered. This will allow you to remove the cable completely and provide a much cleaner appearance for your 5th wheel. To splice the 2 male ends together you will match the wiring color for color. On the trailer end connector you will need to verify the functions of each of your connectors when splicing them together.
The EZ Connector Wiring
White: ground
Red: left turn
Brown: right turn
Black: auxiliary power
Green: tail lights
Yellow: reverse lights
Blue: brakes
While the RV standard wiring should be the same functions for each color I have learned the wires are not always connected correctly. I find it best to use a Test Light # PTW2993 at the junction box to verify each wire function before splicing into the trailer wiring.
