Installing Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller # 90195 on 2010 Ram 2500 SLT with OEM Brake Controller

i just ordered the prodigy p3 with 3021p harness, is this just plug and play or and does evic have to be reprogramed thank u

To install the P3, you will first disconnect the OEM brake controller by disconnecting the plug at the rear. You would then install the P3 by mounting it under the dash. One end of the 3021-P plugs into the rear of the controller, the other end would plug into the connector under the dash between the emergency brake pedal and the steering column (see photo).
The brake controller will be functional at this point, but it will trip an error code on the dash. If the presence of the code does not bother you, you do not need to do anything else. To remove the code, you will need to see your Ram dealer. The service department will need to call Ram customer service to get the sales code, which the service department would input into the vehicle on-board computer to remove the error code.
