Question:

I want to tow my 2024 mini cooper S manual transmission with my 2020 Jayco alante 31V. I'd like a removable braking system since there isn't much space in the cab for all pulleys and wiring that I've seen with the Demco systems.

To flat tow your 2024 Mini Cooper S you'll need the following components:

Baseplate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM54MR. This baseplate has removable arms so that you can maintain a factory look and protect your shins when walking around the front of the vehicle.

Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates # e74ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables included and are attached to the arms to prevent them from dragging on the ground.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit will splice into the factory wiring of your Mini and transfer the traffic signals through to the tail lights of the Mini so that you're street legal.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This portable system is going to come with a remote that allows you to monitor when the brakes are being activated in the Mini and also adjust your brake settings from the cab of the motorhome. It also includes a charge line kit to help keep your battery charged while you tow. There have been fitment issues with the clevis that attaches to the brake pedal, if you find that yours isn't gripping it tight enough then I recommend reaching out to Hopkins MFG to get a replacement clevis for a more secure fit.
