Question:
I want to buy a Yakima LocknLoad platform for my 21 Nissan NV3500 Passenger vans roof. Currently I have Yakima towers holding roundbars. I would like to replace the roundbars with the platform rather than put the platform on the roundbars. What is the adapter for the towers to hold the platform? Any limitations to this system? Thank you.

Expert Reply:
With the Yakima RoundBar Crossbars # Y00410 attached to the SkyLine Towers # Y53TR you will need to remove the RoundBar SL Adapter # Y03536 and install the LockNLoad SL Adapter # Y05042. You will need 2 sets of the adapters as they are sold per for one set of towers as you could have 4 or 6 mounting points. You will use the same Landing Pads # Y00221 on the towers as they do not need changed. Yakima has verified this setup will fit with their Yakima LockNLoad Platform Roof Tray # Y42AV on your 2021 Nissan NV 3500.
Be sure to check your owners manual for maximum roof load and consider the weight of the tray(73lbs) and other parts. The towers have a maximum load capacity of 165lbs.
