Hello, Recently got a new RV and have been trouble figuring out the best way to go about plugs and maintaining the battery. My RV has a SmartPlug What would be you recommendation to keep the battery charge? Thanks!

The best way to charge your RV batteries while in storage is with an AC to DC battery charger hooked up directly to the batteries. I don't recommend charging through the shore power plug while in storage as you run the risk of overcharging. I also recommend removing all power connections from the batteries. In order to choose the correct battery charger you'll need to know how many batteries you have and their amp hour capacity. The OptiMate 2 DUO Smart Battery Charger part # MA39JR for example is designed for a four battery bank with an amp hour capacity of 2 to 24 amp-hours for lithium or 6 to 96 amp-hours for lead acid.
