Troubleshooting A Furrion RV Range/Oven That Won't Stay Lit

Updated 06/11/2026 | Published 02/17/2023

Question:

We have a 2021 reflection rv. There’s a Furrion propane 3 burner stove and an oven. We get a pilot lite. We hold it for 10 seconds and move the temperature gauge to number. When we move it the pilot goes out. We tried to turn burners on to get more propane to the appliance. It won’t light the burner. What can we do with this or what are we doing wrong?

Based on what you've described you either have a propane issue or a thermocouple issue with your Furrion Oven # FR97KR. This could simply be a case of there being too low of a pressure for the burner to fully function and kicking back off. I recommend having a qualified technician take a look at the pressure and adjust your regulator accordingly.

If it's not the propane then it's most likely a faulty or dirty thermocouple. You can try to clean it but you'll want to ensure that it's aligned with the pilot to fully heat up and function correctly.

Furrion isn't the best with replacement parts so if the thermocouple is damaged then you would have to replace the entire oven.

We have had the same issue with our Furrion FSRE21SA-BL oven in our Cougar Half-Ton trailer. And you are right, Furrion had no trouble in telling us the problems were probably due to a faulty thermocouple but which is not replaceable. Furrion was also proud enough to say the only repair was total replacement of the stove at $1100, not including install. My reply was “why would I replace a complete stove that has an oven that has never really worked!” So, if I can’t clean or repair our Furrion stove what brand and model would you suggest purchasing, other than Furrion? Thank you.

@DonP I'm really sorry to hear about all the trouble you've had with your Furrion stove! If you're looking for a new one, I suggest giving the GE Profile Propane RV Range w/3 Burners part # GE57VR a try! It's the same height as the Furrion FSRE21SA-BL at 21" tall, has a cast-iron grate on top, and stainless-steel knobs with an LED light behind it. The burners deliver up to 8,000 BTU and the oven is rated for 7,100 BTU and has two different rack positions. It will need a cutout of 21" tall x 20-1/4" wide x 17-3/4" deep to fit into your camper and weighs only 56lbs. We've had great reviews on this oven so far and GE is well-known appliance manufacturer, so I'm confident this oven would serve you well!

@ClaireH: Thank you Claire for your quick response. My wife and I are headed to Utah tomorrow to begin our summer stay in our Cougar Half-Ton. We are and will be discussing your suggestion for the GE stove. Can we purchase that through etrailer or need to somewhere else? Thanks again for your support.

@DonP I'm happy to help! You can purchase the GE57VR from us directly, though we're currently waiting on stock. So, if you do decide to order it make sure to allow enough time for delivery before your next trip. I hope you have a great trip to Utah!
