Question:

Hello, building a square back small trailer. Looking for door latches like BA93FR. Guessing that die cast zinc is stronger than glass filled? Is there a right/left side in this model? Are there other models that you recommend? My door will be 1.5 thick. Also, do you carry the polar hinges in flat black finish in addition to the stainless? Thx

There is not a left or right for the Bauer Products Door Lock for Horse and Utility Trailers - Matte Black - Glass Filled Nylon # BA63FR or Die Cast Zinc # BA93FR.

These are meant as replacements so they would work so long as your cutout is the standard 2-3/4" wide x 3-3/4" tall; it also requires a 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" thick door, and since yours is 1-1/2" thick you're set there.

As for the models, I do recommend the Bauer as they consistently make quality parts, and you're right that the stronger one is the Die Cast Zinc # BA93FR.

In regards to the strap hinges, they are not available in black, just the stainless steel Strap Hinge # PLR104SS.
