The Solera Awnbrella Support Kit for 8' Projection RV Awning part # LC362237 will prevent the canopy from sagging or flapping in the wind but it's still advisable to retract the awning during heavy winds. If you can still see the canopy flapping during windy conditions then it would be wise to go ahead and retract but the support kit will increase the amount of wind the canopy can withstand before than is needed.
