Question:
Hello, I have a 2011 Hyundai Tucson and I am looking to buy a trailer hitch for my dirt bike transportation. I have a couple of questions: 1. What is the difference between Class III and II? 2. Will I be able to transport the dirt bike using a motorcycle carrier? 3. Do you know if my vehicle will support the weight? Maybe you know about another customer experience. Thank you.

All of the hitch mounted motorcycle carriers we offer are compatible with a Class III receivers that have a 500 lb or better tongue weight capacity. A Class III receiver will typically have a tongue weight capacity (maximum amount of weight that can safely be suspended from hitch opening) of 350 lbs or greater and a receiver opening that measures 2 inches by 2 inches. A Class II receiver will have a lower tongue weight capacity, usually up to 300 lbs and a smaller 1-1/4 inch by 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
If you use a Class III hitch like the Draw-Tite # 75717 , your tongue weight capacity would be insufficient to use the carrier. Your best bet would be to obtain a small utility trailer and equip it with a wheel chock and some tie down straps. for a wheel chock, I'd recommend part # RA-17 and # EM05729 tie down straps.
