Thanks for reaching out!
You will need to disconnect part of the exhaust, remove some plugs, and disconnect some clips to install the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH35VR on your 2021 Toyota Highlander but none of this is permanent aside from some of the plugs that cover up where you need to install bolts.
Attached is an installation video of this hitch on a 2022 Highlander for you to reference and see what the installation entails. If you let me know what you plan on using the hitch for I'd be more than happy to make a recommendation for you!
