Question:

I have installed the loadlift 5000 air bags on the back of my 2004 gulf stream 6280, but still seem to have significant issues with cross wind or semis passing. A couple of questions. Would I be able to add a rear sway bar? It looks like the rear sway bar mounts in a similar position as the air bags. Would a front sway bar help? Any other suggestions?

There will always be sway involved with crosswinds and passing semis while driving a motorhome, the way they are built just catches a lot of wind. The best you can do is try and minimize the effects. Air bags are not a great option for sway control, they are going to be better designed for load support.

It looks like you have the Chevrolet chassis. Which from what I could find is an option on the 2004 Gulf Stream 6280, the standard chassis is a Ford. Because of this option, I have not been able to find a lot of information on the specific chassis used.

You can use both air bags and rear sway bars in certain instances, but there are times when the mounting points interfere with each. This sounds like the case for your Gulf Stream. Using a front sway bar will help some, but not as much as rear. I have included the correct sway bars for a 2004 Chevrolet 2500 Class C motorhome chassis.

Front
- Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1109-149

Rear
- Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1109-150

You would want to verify that you have the 2004 Chevrolet 2500 Class C chassis. If you do not, you would want a different sway bar. If this is the case, please let me know exactly what chassis you have and I would be happy to help recommend the correct sway bars.
