Question:

I am confused as to what type of crossbars that I can install on my 2013 ford flex that has factory side rails installed. I have a thule cargo box that I want to put on my roof but I dont want bars sticking out to wide for me to walk into. Ive read that thule has mounts for a 58 inch bar that is what I have been recommended to get. But the side rails are only 45 inches apart and Im worried the 58s will stick out to far on either side. This is why Im confused and need some help.

Thule also offers a shorter load bar that is confirmed to fit your 2013 Ford Flex with factory installed raised roof rails, and that is the Thule WingBar # TH711420. These load bars are 53 inches long, and are shorter than the 58 inch load bars you referenced, and these have a different profile. These load bars will attach to your factory rails using the Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401.

The Aeroblade bars are more aerodynamic and are 3-1/8 inches wide, please check the attachment style of your Thule Cargo Box and make sure that it can attach to these load bars.
