Best Way to Carry Bikes Above Tonneau Cover on 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed

Question:

Hello. We have a 2015 Silverado 2500 with a 6.5’ bed. We are looking for a solution to accommodate 2 adult bikes and 2 children’s bikes. We were thinking a cross bars and rack across bed of truck might work well with a tonneau soft cover. Do you have suggestions?

Thanks for reaching out, I'd be more than happy to help you!

For your application I recommend using the Leer Soft Tonneau Cover # LE58VR along with the TS Rails for TruXedo Elevate Rack System # TH65FR. This gives you a soft cover and rails with T-Slots for a rack system.

Then to install a roof rack system on the rails I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Crossbars for Retrax XR and Mountain Top EVO-M Tonneau Covers # RRVA180B-RRRLT600. This comes with feet and hardware to fit the TS Rails as well as 71" crossbars to fit roof mount bike racks on.

If you don't already have a roof mounted bike rack I recommend checking out the RockyMounts TomaHawk Roof Bike Rack # RKY1222 because it secures bikes by the wheels and can accommodate a wide variety of bike frame styles.
