Can a Weight Distribution System Be Used on a 2018 Volvo XC90
Question:
This hitch receiver states not rated for use with weight distribution systems. Does this mean that there simply isnt an updated tongue weight and capacity information available when a weight distribution hitch is used with this OR should I interpret that this hitch is NOT to be used with weight distribution at all? If its no WD AT ALL, is that because my 2018 Volvo XC90 Inscription T6 is unibody or something else related to the vehicle construction - meaning there isnt ANY hitch on the market that would allow the use of weight distribution? Thanks!

It does not matter which trailer hitch option you choose for a 2018 Volvo XC90, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e53KR, you cannot use a weight distribution system and the reason for this is the unibody construction. The unibody cannot handle the stress of a weight distribution system but this is not just the case for this vehicle but every vehicle with a unibody.
Unfortunately, we don't have any options to help with read end support on this vehicle but if you were interested in a weight distribution system for its anti-sway properties, you can use the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control part # 335TSC-1000 for this.
