Today in our 2017 Volvo XC90, we'll be having a look at the weathertech front auto floor mats, in black. Part number WT448281, also available in tan as part number WT458282, and in gray as part number number WT468281. We've got our weathertech floor mat installed in the driver side of our vehicle. You'll notice we have complete coverage in our driver side floor area. We have a raise lip that follows the entire perimeter of the mat, so it'll contain any spills that may occur. It extends up behind our brake pedal, along the firewall, very high. Now I'll show you how to install the passenger side mat. Slide it up underneath the dash, push it down onto the factory floor mat retention hooks 'til it clicks into place.
Now we have this recessed area here, four channels leading into it, and this area is also channeled. This will help divert any water, mud, dirt or snow away from our feet so we don't track it into our vehicle. Just like on the driver side, you can see how much coverage we have, it goes up underneath the dash and against the firewall. We have the same raised perimeter edge all the way around the mat to contain the spills. This mat is constructed of a rubberized thermoplastic material, which won't crack, fade or break over the course of time. It's a very durable mat and it will last the life of your vehicle. Now what I really like about these mats compared to others on the market, is the fact that weathertech uses laser measurements when they design the mats, to insure a great fit in your vehicle.
Follows all the contours of your vehicle's floorboard, and all the contours go underneath the dash to insure a great fit. It's not gonna slip around under you, it's locked into place, and it looks like a factory mat. The mat is very easy to clean, and if it just has a small spill on it, you can wipe it down with a damp cloth. If it's really dirty, you can take it outside of the vehicle, hose it off in your driveway with a garden hose, let it air-dry out in the sun, and once it's dry, you can place it back in.
