Question:
Hello, I have a 1997 F-150 and would like to install the Surco brand rail into the channels on the roof. the channel width of my truck is 0.900. Will the Surco S3600 rail fit into this channel?

Expert Reply:
The Surco Roof Rails for Safari Roof Rack, like the 36" long Rails # SPR3600, are 1-3/8" wide so they would be too wide to fit in the channels on your 1997 Ford F-150 but you'd be able to install them to the roof just to the side of the channels.
This would then allow you to fit the Surco Safari Rack 5.0 Rooftop Cargo Basket # S5050 and Adapter Kit # SPCH100 to your truck.
All of the other tracks/channels used for this type of setup will be too wide as well so it really boils down to what type of setup you're looking to add to the roof of your truck.
