Question:

The brackets 6 that I have installed with the wrong low step type, need the ones that are close to bottom of Doors. I have 2021 Silverado crew cab. Need nerf 5” brackets # 28-51270

Thanks for the picture! I have a solution for you but there is only one set of replacement brackets for the Westin R5 Nerf Bars item # 28-51270 you have. They are the Replacement Mounting Hardware Kit item # 28-5127PK. These will give you the same large gap you have now and there are no other options for shortening it up.

I recommend replacing your bars with the DeeZee Nerf Bars item # DZ373539 for black and item # DZ373533 for stainless. These have a significantly higher mounting point as you can see in the picture I have attached below. For reference the bottom of the step is right below the bottom of the front mud flap. The top of the Westin bars are below the mud flaps.
