Recommended Lift Assist Kayak Carrier for a Yakima Overhaul Ladder Rack on a Toyota Tundra

Question:

Hi there, I have an overhaul hd truck rack. I want to carry two kayaks my question might have been answered but I have not found it. My bars are 68 inches long and I have sufficient overhang can I install two sets of these load assist Yakima racks on my overhaul truck racks? thanks

I have a solution for you but the Yakima ShowDown item # Y04081 requires about 42" of crossbar space. You will not be able to use two on your Overhaul Ladder rack item # Y01151-58 with 68" crossbars. Instead, I suggest using the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier and Lift Assist item # TH898. The Hullavator only requires 60" bars so you will have plenty of room to spare. The Hullavator is compatible with Yakima crossbars there are no adapters or anything else needed. The Hullavator item # TH898 will give you the easiest-to-use kayak carrier because of its lift assist that takes most of the work out of mounting your kayak to the carrier.
