does the vacuum breaker have to be installed in the upright position?

The Vacuum Breaker # DOM95FR for the Dometic 310 Toilet # DOM57FR does not have to be perfectly vertical but you do want it mounted in upright as seen in the image below.
In my experience I recommend keeping a Water Valve # DOM93FR and Flush Ball Seal # DOM63FR on hand as they are the parts that tend to fail most often. They can both be easily changed without removing the toilet as well.
