Using Roof Top Tent with Malone SteelTop # MPG202 on 2016 Subaru Forester with Raised Side Rails

Hello, I am inquiring to see if the Malone SteelTop Roof Rack - Square Crossbars - Raised, Factory Side Rails - Steel - 58 Long is a good choice/strong enough for a rooftop tent? I have a subaru forester 2016.

Yes. The Malone SteelTop Roof Rack # MPG202 can accommodate a rooftop tent on your 2016 Subaru Forester as long as the tent itself does not exceed 165 pounds. Also, since Malone does not have a static load rating for their crossbars, it is important to make sure that your tent has enough weight capacity in order to handle the added body weight to the tent. Another thing that you need to note is that the tent must be installed on inside of the feet on the crossbars. I went ahead and attached an image to clarify what I mean.

Additionally, just to be safe, we also recommend consulting with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure that you do not exceed the weight capacity rating of your Forester's rails/roof.

I also went ahead and attached a video that shows the # MPG202 being installed on a 2015 Forester. The installation on your 2016 model is virtually the same.
