For the Yakima Boa bike rack to work properly, the crossbar spread will need to be between 32 and 50 inches. Bar spread is measured from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar. For a Yakima roof rack on a 2002 Toyota Corolla sedan the bar spread is 30 inches.

You will not want to move the bars because the components that make up the roof rack are designed to fit in a specific location on the vehicle. If moved it can compromise fit and damage the vehicle.

I recommend a bike rack designed to fit the 30 inch bar spread like the ForkLift, # Y02098. This is also the more economical choice since you would not have to also get a stretch kit, it will fit the bar spread as is.
