Which transmission cooler is recommended for my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500? How is it installed? is it a do it yourselfer type of job? Thanks

I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets # D13504 for your 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. This cooler is compatible with all 3 engine combinations your Sierra comes with. The kit ties into your Sierra by removing the return hose connection of the transmission line and sending fluid from the radiator to the cooler then back to the transmission. Depending on your skill level you may consider having this professionally installed as it does involve removing the front fascia to mount the cooler and disconnecting the transmission line at the radiator.

You will need the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13035 to connect the new line on the radiator and I recommend using the Derale Universal Bendable Metal Mount Kit # D13002 to secure the cooler on the front of your Sierra.
