First, I need to know if your 2011 Mercedes R350 has a factory roof rack that includes crossbars that run side to side, rails that run front to back, both, or neither.
If you do have factory crossbars and they measure less than 3-1/2 inches wide and the center to center distance between the front and rear bars is between 23-5/8 inches and 35-1/2 inches you can use a Thule cargo box. However, the largest box you can use without interference with the rear hatch/trunk would be one of the 18 cubic foot size boxes, # TH629806.
If your R350 has just side rails, or if it has no rails or crossbars but does have fixed mounting points for a roof rack then let me know and I can determine if there are any roof racks that will fit so you can add a cargo box.
