Does Retrax XR Tonneau Cover T-Slots Have Weight Capacity for Roof Rack Tent
Updated 11/18/2024 | Published 05/12/2022 >
Question:
I have the retrax pro XR cover with the slimline 2 rack. I recently put the ikamper sky camp 3.0 on the roof rack. I was wondering if the retrax pro can accommodate the weight of the cargo basket, ikamper and my wife and I. About 600lbs on the side tslotted rails total.

The dynamic weight capacity of the RetraxPRO XR Hard Tonneau Cover # RTT-80851 is 500 lbs so it would easily handle the 600 lb weight you mentioned since that would be a "static" weight meaning it's not weight on the rack when on the road where bumps are going to exaggerate the stress of that weight.

Similar question. I have the overhaul HD mounted in the tslots of the retrax xr cover. My bars are full with a 160lb RTT and 20lb awning. Id like to mount yakima foot pads and round bars biased to the passenger side (the same side as the RTT ladder) so that i can use a boa-style bike rack for a single bike. also on the bars, i'd like to mount my old yakima basketcase. The math says i'm below the weight limit static and moving so i should be good, right? The bike would not be mounted when i would be using the RTT.

I have the retrax mx version and, Ike it very much. I now have a different trailer and need to put my bikes above the the retrax. Can I buy new RX tracks and swap the mx tracks for the rx tracks? If so, do you sell them?

Are you stating the dynamic load rating of the aluminum slats? It seems that you are as that's the rating I see everywhere. Question is specific to the t slots and mounting a rack. What is the t slots load rating as it's what is holding the rack, tent, people, and other gear? I can't find this answer anywhere but I see many overland set ups that are over 500 pounds and more. That's dynamic. When parked, people are putting 1000 pounds static on the rack and subsequent t slots. Seen this with a 250 pound 4 person tent. 2 adults and 2 kids and a dog plus gear.
