Fit and Installation of Reese Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for 2018 GMC 3500

Question:
I ordered the reese complete underbed kit without oem prep package and the matching 5th wheel adapter and now that they are installed the 5th wheel adapter doesnt match up to the holes in the bed. I hope they didnt send me the wrong under bed mount. Mine are 30 inches apart in width and 13 inches from front to back.

The Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, # RP30868 is the correct item for your 2018 GMC Sierra 3500. Be aware that this is not the same under bed kit/puck system that is installed on GM trucks at the factory. That system is not available as an aftermarket option.
Because Reese makes the under bed OEM rail kits for Ford, the Elite Rail kit # RP30868 that you have is the same pattern as the rail kit that Ford offers with their new trucks. What you have is compatible with any hitch that uses the Ford OEM prep package/Puck system.
The other part you ordered, the Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter, # RP49FR is not compatible with your newly installed system because it is for the Chevy/GMC OEM prep Package/Puck System and that is not what you installed. The Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter, # RP49FR should be returned.
If your objective is to use a hitch that you already have, an ISR 5th wheel hitch with your newly installed Under Bed Kit. You will need the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter for Standard 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, # RP30156 instead. Or, you can order a 5th wheel hitch that fits a Ford OEM Prep Package truck such as the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Towing Prep Package, # RP30921.
