When I put this hitch in there was nowhere for my bumper to attach

By 'bumper', I believe you're referring to the rear crossmember, as the bumper isn't actually removed during the installation.
To install the Draw-Tite 76310 Class III hitch which we offer as part # DR64FR, you'll remove the rear cross member and the hitch will take its place, the cross member will be removed and not replaced. The hitch will provide the necessary rigidity to the vehicle frame and impact protection, just like the cross member did before it was removed.
The install instructions aren't very clear about that, and I've contacted Draw-Tite and have asked them to update the installation instructions so that the procedure is made more clear.
