How to Disconnect Power When Installing Kwikee Electric RV Step Complete Assembly
Updated 05/20/2022 | Published 05/06/2022 >
Question:
Have a 2002 CoachHousefoot 23foot motorhome, on a Ford E-450 chassis. I just received my new 26 series Kwikee step to replace the original which is toast. So far everything is great working with you folks! Looks like it will be very straight forward to replace, and a perfect fit. My question is - procedurally, walk me through disconnecting and reconnecting to the motorhome power sources in process. Just make sure the key is off? Do I need to disconnect the batteries the Ford 7.3 liter has 2 or just one of them? I dont have a feel for this. Thank you.

When installing the Kwikee Electric RV Step Complete Assembly # LC3711363 in your 2002 Coach House 23 foot motorhome, on a Ford E-450 chassis you will just need to unhook the negative battery terminal to disconnect power. Then when finished you will hook the negative terminal back up.
