Installation of Redline Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper

Question:
Got the rubber bumper yesterday they say 5/8inch bolts are required why cannot i use 3/8inch bolts as that is a lot of drilling for the larger bolts

The Rubber Trailer Bumper, # D4-96 comes from the manufacturer with recommended guidelines for best fitment their product. If you choose to alter the installation from recommended that is your choice, but it may not hold up the way it was designed with the improper hardware.
