Question:
How do the M14 bolts attach without nuts? Neither the included parts list nor instructions mention using nuts. This makes no sense to me.

I would be happy to help you. The bolts for the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
Item # EH83VR thread into weld nuts on the bottom side of the frame. I have attached an installation video below. If you skip ahead to the 9 minute mark you will see this step. Weld nuts are drilled and tapped into the frame of vehicles when they are manufactured so hitches and other accessories can be installed.
If you need a wiring harness for your 2017 Jeep Renegade you will want the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118651.
To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
