Question:

Hi I am interested in a base plate for my 2018 ford fusion energy hybrid platinum model so has every option so i was told. I am interested in a base plate blu 44 fr blue ox or the roadmaster baseplate for the same model. I have a roadmaster tow bar but have adapters for blue ox that i had on my last car so i can go either way. Can you tell me which one is easiest to install? That is the one I am interested in. thanks

The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit part # RM-524458-5 is what I recommend for a 2018 Ford Fusion Energi Hybrid over the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit part # BLU44FR. I have not installed either of these but I have installed many base plates. I looked through the instructions for each, the Blue Ox kit requires you to level the base plate on the frame and then drill your holes once in place. This can be difficult as you have to find a way to secure it temporarily and are relying on your own leveling ability before you drill the holes. It works but is not my favorite method of securing the base plate so I do recommend the Roadmaseter as the easier to install option.
