Question:
Hi I have the Demco auto slider 5th wheel hitch that makes a loud bang and thud to my truck when I am stop and make a 90 degree turn, it is like the hitch slides back at full speed then bottoms out, I also started to hear some other noises coming from the hitch while traveling I have a lube disc installed. I also have to take a crow bar to manually straighten out the capture plate. This problem has been going on since purchased and installed the hitch from E trailer. Any suggestion or adjustments I can do ???

For your Demco Hiijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM8550024, it sounds to me like you need to adjust your capture plates.
According to the owner's manual you're supposed to measure the width of your pin box, and set the capture plates 1/8" wider between the capture plates.
It also could be because you do not have the correct capture plates installed. If you have a Trailair Rota-Flex pin box or a Trailair Air Ride pin box, then you will need # DM6171.
